Snow Day | Maryland Family Photographer

We had yet another snow day last week and took full advantage to let my favorite bear cubs out to play. I declared this to be the last snow day of the year and I didn't want to miss our chance. Yes, I am very optimistic about the spring as I can smell it in the air ; ) Here are some pictures of myself and my little inspirations and why not, it turned out to be a great day...enjoy!

"What to Wear" Fridays - Maternity | Maryland Lifestyle Photographer

Happy Friday everyone and welcome to the next installment of "What to Wear" Fridays. Today we are talking about baby bumps :)

Maternity sessions and pregnancy in general is such a beautiful thing. Celebrating the wondrous experience of creating a new life is so amazing. So the question always comes up "What Should We Wear". Your comfort is most important and that is my priority during our session. I strive to capture beautiful moments of you and your spouse, but also make the experience enjoyable and comfortable. As a woman myself, I understand the strong desire to create flattering portraits.

You should come to your session ready to show off your beautiful belly and your new curves at or near your 3rd trimester (34+weeks). Some may not be feeling up to it or very sexy around that time, just remember to wear that outfit that has been making you feel fabulous and chic whether it be jeans, shorts or a cute little dress!

Form fitting pieces such as tanks or t-shirts are great and can be paired with a sweater to add layers and texture in the colder months. Sweater dresses are popular right now because they are feminine, soft and they show off your curves : ) Leggings, pants with lower waistlines such as jeans, shorts or long skirts also looks great. If you are planning on showing some skin, do not wear anything restricting around your belly a few hours before your session. The elastic can leave unflattering marks around your belly, the same goes for socks and straps.

Just remember, show off your bump and have fun!

"What to Wear" Fridays - Family | Maryland Lifestyle Photographer

Family Sessions are special, a legacy of who your family was for future generations to enjoy.

Clothing choices are just as important for family sessions, as other sessions. I suggest clothing for each family member that has the same tone, not necessarily the same color. Children are super easy to dress, keep it simple and punch up the color by accessorizing  outfits with shoes, hats, necklaces, neckties, knee socks, etc. Parents can build their outfits around them and show off your families personalities and style.

I look for inspiration from brand stores such as the GAP, Gymboree, Children's Place, Boden Kids to name a few, see the ideas below for young boys and girls. Don’t forget to be yourselves, have fun, and bring your sillies : )

Stay tuned for the next installment of "What to Wear" Fridays!

"What to Wear" Fridays - Engaged | Maryland Lifestyle Photographer

Engagement Sessions are a great way to get photos for your wedding website, save-the-date cards, or a guest book. It is also about spending some time getting to know your photographer so that you are comfortable with me on your big day, one less thing to worry about right. You could also just want to take pictures to capture your sweet love : )

The question always comes up “What Should We Wear?” Clothing should compliment your look, not complicate it . An engagement session should depict your personality and your style. I can certainly give you a guide, but what you wear should reflect who “you” are. I recommend a casual and a more dressier outfit for your session.

• Wear something comfortable but a notch above your everyday look, think swag. This is important because if you spend the entire time of your session adjusting your blouse or shirt, then you become distracted and this takes away from your overall experience.

• Pay attention to the patterns and prints on your clothing. Loud patterns and prints go out of style, consider timeless classic styles that will carry through in your photographs for years to come.

• Your significant other should wear clothes on the same level as you. His attire doesn’t have to match but should be complimentary to your style and colors.

• Don’t forget the shoes. I guarantee you will be walking during your session.

Below are some ideas I drummed up, use it as a guide but the final decision is yours! I love sessions that are fun because your images will truly reflect your personalities and your relationship. Think about your session as date night, don’t forget to be yourselves, have fun, and bring your sillies : )

Stay tuned for the next installment of “What to Wear” Fridays!

Delrose + Amaeze | Maryland Wedding Photographer

We were asked by a friend of the bride's if we were available the weekend of Thanksgiving to photograph a wedding. Why of course, it was a very intimate affair at a local venue called The Villa. We have so much to be thankful for this year and what a great way to end it with the celebration of love.

Delrose and Amaeze are truly in love, they cited heartfelt vows and you could feel the love and admiration they have for each other. Thank you both for giving us the opportunity to document this special time in your lives. We wish you all the best in your marriage!
